We are now accepting submissions for Facets' 36th annual Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, running November 1 – 9, 2019.
Our Festival presents the best, most innovative international films for kids and teens. We seek out films that both entertain audiences and challenge them to widen their perspectives. But more importantly, we seek out films that are made for kids, not simply about them.
We are the first Academy® qualifying children’s film festival in the world and Best Animated and Best Live Action Short Film categories are Oscar® qualifying.

Is there any way to get the fee waived?
For over 30 years, our Festival has worked with and supported independent filmmakers. We truly understand the financial difficulties that come with the art form—but we cannot waive fees because we are a small nonprofit program and the entry fees help sustain the Festival each year.
